Used and Abused: Cruz Tool Kit and Viair Compressor
Cruz Tools Speedkit
$32.99 (as tested) cruztools.com
The Speedkit was developed for H-D bikes and comes with a ton of tools in an easily packable 7 x 2 x 2-inch package. There are assorted nut drivers, every star bit needed, some hex wrenches, a 5-in-1 screwdriver, a set of pliers, a 2-in-1 spark plug socket, and a tire pressure gauge. I like the fact that they are a set of real tools and not some slickly designed multi-tool that does nothing good. I have used the Speedkit many times while on the side of the road and can attest that this is money well spent.
Viair 85P Compressor
The Viair 85P is portable compressor with a built-in LED work light and gauge. It weighs in at a paltry 4 pounds and is only 9.1 x 3.1 x 5.6 inches so it can easily fit in a saddlebag with room to spare. We have used the 85P to inflate any size motorcycle tire by simply screwing on the solid brass tire chuck to the low tire’s valve stem and plugging the 10-foot ling power cord into a 12-volt (cigarette lighter) power port. With the misfortunes I have had with tires losing air lately I have found the 85P is quality made, works very well, and has become an indispensable part of my motorcycle’s tool kit.
