Sleek and Sexy Softail Deuce
My name is Luca Manni, I’m 48 years old, and I live in Grosseto, Tuscany, Italy. And this is my 2000 Softail Deuce.
A motorcycle enthusiast since childhood, I managed after years of saving money to buy the bike of my dreams! In 2000, at the turn of the millennium, the factory introduced the Deuce, an innovative model with a fabulous stretched gas tank, rear fender with a lower horizontal cut, and lighthouse diamond-cut, fully chromed fork. It was love at first sight for me!
I was planning to make a bike based upon the futuristic-looking motorcycles of the late 1900s built by the brothers Battistini in England (the Battistini are of Italian origin).
Once I had the project bike of my dreams, I collaborated with Harley-Davidson Viterbo. The result: my dream custom. The right side is completely open with an unobstructed view of the rims while the left is dedicated to the brakes: a GMA rear and a 13-inch Performance Machine floating front rotor with six-piston calipers.
But now we come to the pièce de résistance: the engine. I had it completely redone with Screamin’ Eagle parts to a displacement of 95ci. It has forged pistons, CNC-ported heads, new valves, new camshafts, programmable ECU, and much more. The V-twin cranks out 115 hp and the bike revs in an awesome way!
After making all these changes and entering many shows, I have received international awards! My bike has been published in major magazines in Russia, the United States, Japan, Italy, France, and more.
I wanted to make a nice bike, powerful but one you could always use. Here in Tuscany, there is some stunning scenery, with winding roads in the hills. I love tearing up those roads!
