A nice set of pipes does wonders for a bike both in the sound and looks departments. This is especially true when the pipe is comprised of both polished stainless and carbon fiber. Such is the case with this Kerker 2:1 pipe (Part # 166-7083). Kerker’s name is synonymous with racing and quality and the company has been making great exhausts for V-twins for years. SuperTrapp purchased Kerker in 1991 and has been keeping its level of quality and manufacturing alive in the USA ever since.
This $865 hi-pipe has a great classic streetbike look to it, which will go right along with the appearance of our 1999 H-D “Street Crosser” Sportster. The Kerker 2:1 pipe has a mandrel-bent 2-into-1 polished stainless header coupled to a carbon-wrapped muffler with a high-flowing 2-inch baffle. The system comes with everything needed to bolt it on with ease, including brackets that use the stock exhaust locations so no drilling or tapping is required. We installed it in less than an hour using only hand tools, so you should easily be able to do it in your garage or carport with no issues at all. Here’s how we did it.
