Garage: Blowin’ Up!
Few thing put a monkey wrench into a great day’s ride than a flat tire. Here are two carry-on solutions for you in case the motorcycle gremlins decide to mess with your rubber.
MotoPumps
Mini Pro Inflator
This here inflator is a compact, all-in-one, 12-volt-powered air pump designed specifically for motorcycles and gets tires up to 36 psi in around three minutes. It has a backlit gauge and a bright LED work light. The 18-ounce Mini Pro is just 2 inches thick, 4.75 inches tall, and 5.75 inches long. It draws less than 5 amps, making it compatible with CAN bus electrical systems. Making the Inflator go is a 6.5-foot cord that can be hooked to an auxiliary plug or directly to a battery. Terminal clips and a cigarette-lighter-type plug are included. Air is delivered through a 3.5-foot coiled air hose, equipped with a screw-type air chuck. I regularly keep my tires at the right psi with the Mini Pro Inflator, and it proves to be light, small, and powerful.
Stop & Go
Tubeless Puncture Pilot
The Stop & Go Tubeless Puncture Pilot tire-repair kit weighs less than 2 pounds and includes tire plugger, reamer, and probe tools, a hex wrench, 15 mushroom plugs, a razor knife, and instructions. It also comes with a 12-volt Mini Air Compressor with a built-in pressure gauge and a 66-inch power cord that fits Battery Tender connections, a 12-inch alligator-clip extension, and a 36-inch cigarette-lighter extension. It’s all wrapped up in a handy zippered canvas case that measures 7 x 4 x 3 inches. I have used this kit on two separate occasions, and both times it never failed to get me home. Good stuff indeed!
