Once only worn under stiffly starched shirts in the ’50s the T-shirt struck out on its own and has become part of the world’s outerwear for decades. In the early ’70s, a few sly companies printed their brand onto cotton shirts, gave them away for marketing purposes, and the rest is history. Now, wearable corporate logos are as commonplace as billboards on Sunset Boulevard. We even pay manufacturers to wear their brands. Our identities are intertwined with these labels so much so, it is now socially acceptable to pimp products and look good while doing so.
