In the world of Harley-Davidson Iron 883 Sportsters, mean and lean is the name of the game. Riding with a friend on the back is not the easiest of feats with the Iron 883—or most Sporties for that matter. That’s not to say that two-up riding can’t be done. It just takes a few upgrades in which to do so. And those upgrades used to be big, heavy, and look like they were on loan from your dad’s bagger. Well, the fine folks at Burly Brand decided to change all of that with its line of sissy bars and seats. Burly offers more than a few of these items to fine-tune your Sportster with, but we went with one of its two-up Brat seats and a 20-inch sissy bar with back pad. The diamond tuck seat is made in America, and although it looks slim, it still has ample padding for daylong rides. The sissy bar is TIG-welded right here in the good ol’ USA and powdercoated black to match the Dark Custom looks of the Iron 883.

The Burly two-up Brat seat matches the sleek styling of the Iron 883 much better than the seat it came with from the factory.

We removed the stock seat from the bike via its single screw at the back of the seat. It just slid out after that.

The new Burly Brat seat slid right back in the place of the stock single seat and used the rear seat screw mount on the bike’s fender with no issues whatsoever.

The Burly sissy bar uses all of the stock fender and fender strut mounting locations, so all you have to do is pull the old hardware and use the provided longer bolts.

We also used a liberal amount of blue threadlocking compound on all four bolts of the sissy bar before tightening to factory specifications.
