Baggers Of The 2017 Mooneyes Hot Rod Custom Show
I absolutely love the Mooneyes Hot Rod Custom Show. Who wouldn’t? It’s one of the greatest custom motorcycle shows on Earth, full of just about every type of bike you can conceive of and probably a few you haven’t.
The show owes its name to hot-rodder and innovator Dean Moon. Way back when, Moon built and raced cars, from El Mirage Dry Lake and the Bonneville Salt Flats to dragstrips and anywhere else he could find a start/finish line.
Along the way, Moon established a company that’s now a worldwide hot-rod industry icon: Moon Speed Equipment. In time, his bright-yellow show cars and drag racers were used as models for Hot Wheels toys. Now, that’s a legacy.
After Dean’s passing in 1987, Shige Suganuma restarted the company as Mooneyes USA, including the world-renowned Mooneyes Hot Rod Custom Show in Yokohama, Japan. I attended last week’s show and it was everything I could have hoped for. Look at this bagger gallery and see for yourself.
