With baggers being all-around bigger bikes, that leaves more room to add parts and accessories. However, there's also a lot of room to upgrade stock components on these bikes like the speakers (those models that come with stereo) and the multiple gauges.
Our friend James had an '07 Street Glide in which he wanted to upgrade the stock speakers for a better sounding set from Hogtunes. The stock H-D speakers are OK; however, James found that when cruising at highway speeds, even with the audio all the way up, the speakers were difficult to hear, and what he did hear was mostly cracking and distortion.
With an extensive background in car audio, Hogtunes began experimenting, and eventually developed a direct H-D replacement speaker that sounds equally great when bumping in the parking lot or cranked up when burning down the highway.
James figured while he had the fairing apart he might as well replace the stock gauges with some colorful new LED gauges from Dakota Digital. Aside from emitting a mesmerizing indigo blue hue, these gauges offer a lot more options and data than the stock units. HB

2. Separating the inner and outer fair-ing was just a matter of unbolting the screws holding the two together. With the two halves unbolted, the headlight was unplugged so the outer fairing could be set aside.

6. The speakers feature the same electrical connectors found on the stock units, makinginstallation as easy as possible. With the installation complete James turned the radio on and cranked up the audio, at about 3/4 max volume the Hogtunes speakers were much louder than stock speakers at full volume. The sound was crisp and clear with no distortion, and would only improve when we bolted the fairing back together (there's a video on our website where we stand about 50 feet away and you can hear the audio perfectly).
