I just put a rebuilt tranny in 72 xlch , bike cranks and runs great ,starts on the 1 or 2 kick but when i shift into first and go to take off it wonts to die no matter how slow i let out on the cluych am i missing something?

I ride a 2000 FLHRCI and i recently checked the air pressure on my air shocks. When i placed the gauge on the valve stem, oil came out. I am not sure if this is common but i think it is not. Should oil come out instead of air?? I had it serviced at harley and they told me that the shocks should be set at 10-15 psi. can anyone help???? :mad:

i have a 99' ultra classic that keeps losing all power when it heats up. i'll be riding along and lose everything,pull over wait about a minute and then it will power back up and crank. i've had the ignition changed and the 50 amp circuit breaker. still happens. any ideas what else could be the problems ?

Has anyone ever seen this knife before and can it really be used on a bayonet? It is said that it can fit together with a AK47 rifle. Maybe it is a copy of some old military knife that was used back in one of the wars? The website that it is on is www.lducompany.com I am wondering if it can fit on any other types of guns or rifles. Does it look like something that would be used by Chinese, Koreans, or Russians. I am have trouble deciding which clutch setup to go with for my hot bagger project. I am going to use a 107 S&S motor and will need a good clutch to hold up to the pounding. The Baker King Kong clutch is about 1,300. I have the Revera clutch is very easy to adjust and has light pull, costs about 700. And now this guy at the shop I go to says to get a Hydraulic clutch?? What do you guys use and why? Going into a 1997 Electra glide classic. Thanks Jim

Hey Steve is this the light system you were looking for? It has the white lense for the headlight and the orange turn signals. It also has eight different alarm/horn sounds AND has he break light and break light switch you were looking for. If you are still building go karts for people then I think it would work well for you. They say it can be used with scooters, mini bikes, go carts, and or bicycles. It uses two AA batteries so you won't need to wire it into the karts electrical system but I guess you could if you can figure that out. The worst riding conditions make the best riders. Recently I got caught in the rain at the end of a long day. I rode from California to Spearfish, South Dakota, and arrived as the shadows were growing long. I could see thunderstorms ahead, and sweated out my gas situation until I finally had a chance to fill up. At the gas station, I heard that not only was there heavy rain, but hail as well. Newly confident with a full tank, I headed into the storms. First the bugs were washed from the bike, then I got soaked, then that clammy feeling of wet, cold leather. Soon I was concentrating on making time on the windy roads of Spearfish Canyon, with some mud thrown in where the road was being worked on. I don't like riding when it is dark, and the rain made it worse. However, I have to admit that I felt really good about the ride almost the second I finished that part of the trip. While I would never choose to ride in these conditions, it was the kind of thing that can't help but make you a better rider. From now on, when you find yourself weather challenged, go for it with gusto. Wet conditions force you to be smooth.

I recently found out that my 2003 Roadking is one of many bikes built that has a roller bearing in the left side engine case. Prior to this Timken tapered bearing were used. The reason H-D went to the roller bearing was to save time (and money) while building the engines. I understand econimics, but they certainly didn't do the end consumer any favor by doing this. Now I have to tear my engine completely down and take the left engine case to Zipper's and have them machine and fit the Timken tapered bearing. The cost for this repair is about $350.00. Apparently the roller bearing can not handle the side loading and fails. I noticed it when I had to replace my shifter arm on the transmission and had to drain my primary fluid. It was not only black (usually it's slighly cloudy) but there was more in there than I had put in. It leaks from the engine into my primary. That is the first sign , the second is a whining noise from the primary and if left unchecked long enough it will egg out the opening. Thanks H-D :mad:

I am trying to get some help. I have been researching this Harley pin of my husbands and haven't found anything on it. It is a brass pin made between 1930 and 1940. It has MOTOR on top , CYCLES on bottom and the wings in the middle with HARLEY in it. No writing on the back. He was just curious if anyone else has seen one. I have 07 FLHTCU, 103 se heads, se258 cams, stroker pistons,sert, dyno's 104/109 rear wheel, love the bike, hate the ride. just came bacl from sturgis, over 4k miles logged, while up there, rear wheel keeps throwing weights, neck bearing came loose, exhaust flange on 2-1 header backed off, bike rode like a rigid mount?? whats wrong?? motor vibration?? motor's not that rad.Any help/suggestions?? bike has 9900 miles.
