CLEVELAND, Ohio - April 22, 2010 - SuperTrapp Industries (www.SuperTrapp.com) pioneered the way almost forty years ago. They continue to remain on the cutting edge of designing, testing and manufacturing the original, high quality, tunable, aftermarket performance exhausts right here in the U.S.A. SuperTrapp performance exhausts are for a variety of motor vehicle applications, including motorcycles, ATV and automotive.
SuperTrapp's best-performing pipes are their 2:1's and countless dyno shootouts prove it. Riders and dealers have to wait no longer for the much anticipated tunable, disc-based, SuperTrapp 2:1 SuperMegs in chrome (P/N 828-71580, MSRP $789.00) or black (P/N 827-71580, MSRP $839.00) and non-tunable, non-disc based Kerker 2:1 SuperMegs also in chrome (P/N 128-71580, MSRP $749.00) or black (P/N 127-71580, $799.00) for the 2010 FLH. They have arrived! SuperTrapp engineered their 2:1 it to provide the same great sound and performance gains that riders expect and have made these pipes one of SuperTrapp's top-selling exhaust systems for almost 40 years.
All SuperTrapp and Kerker 2:1 SuperMegs work with OEM forward and mid controls. They include 3-piece head pipe heat shields.
SuperTrapp 2:1 SuperMegs provide a 15% bolt-on horsepower gain across the board. The core and packing are rebuildable. They include twenty, 4" discs and a Polished Billet End Cap. The 2.5" collector allows maximum flow for even the largest big bore motors. The universal transmission mount bracket makes installation a breeze.
The sound levels and power band can be adjusted by adding or removing 4" external discs. Adding discs increases the exhaust outlet and decreases back pressure. This effectively widens the power band at the top end. It also increases exhaust tone and leans out carburetion. In short, adding discs increases the horsepower, exhaust tone and flow.
Subtracting discs decreases the exhaust opening and increases backpressure. This effectively decreases the power band to create more low-end torque. It also decreases exhaust tone and enriches carburetion. Meaning, that subtracting 4" discs decreases the exhaust tone and flow, but increases the low-end torque.
SuperTrapp 2:1 SuperMegs can be run with either an open end cap or a closed end cap. The general rule of thumb that riders need to keep in mind is that running an open end cap is equivalent to 10 - 12 discs.
The non-tunable, Kerker 2:1 SuperMeg features a full flow mechanical core for a deep throaty sound and excellent top end performance. These pipes shift the power curve to the top-end, making them unsurpassed at high RPMs. Kerker exhausts are known for their deep, throaty, bottomless rumble and these are no exception.
Both exhausts are also available for '10 and earlier Sportster, '09 and earlier Softail, Dyna and Touring applications. O2 plugs are included for early model applications. Both pipes are also available for 230 and 250 wide tire customs. Universal SuperMegs are available for unique applications.
