From the Ashes
From the Editor: In Vol. 41 No.13, I wrote my editorial about watching an online video of a resilient and steadfast Emma Lujan, owner of C&E Auburn V-Twin, in Auburn, California, as she was being interviewed by a local news reporter while rubble of the showroom of her motorcycle business smoldered in the background. Emma was determined to bring the business back to the tight-knit community this past October Emma and her husband Carlo re-opened, operating out of their service center located directly behind where their showroom used to stand. Having lost most of their photos in the fire, Emma and Carlo have put a call out asking if anyone has any photos of them at the races or riding. On a side note, if you've never ridden the Sierra Nevada foothills of Auburn/Grass Valley, and the surrounding areas you are missing some of the best riding and backroads Northern California has to offer. Join C&E on its annual Sweet Hearts Ride, Sunday February 14, 2010, and see what you've been missing. ceauburnvtwin@yahoo.com.

Corn Fed Bikers
With presence at 13 rallies across the country, Progressive Insurance handed out more than 46,000 ears of free corn and provided meals for nearly 170,000 needy children and their families through its 2009 Progressive Corn for Kids program. Progressive gave away hot roasted corn on the cob for a suggested donation of $1 with all proceeds donated to local Feeding American food banks. Keep an eye out for Progressive's hot roasted corn next year at your favorite rally.
