Mike “Max” Maxham sent us pics of his ’03 100th Anniversary Fat Boy. He ordered this bike in March of 2003 and picked it up in Aug of the same year in bone-stock condition. Max’s whole idea for this bike was to keep it as stock anniversary as he could. He kept the gas tank, engine, and transmission stock. To complement the already good-looking silver and black bike, he had a fantastic pinstriper by the name of Ron Hernandez do pinstriping on his tank and fenders. As far as the rest of the upgrades on this sweet machine, Max did all his own work. Max states, “The only thing I had to really fabricate was the front fender brackets to get the fender to sit properly on the front 21-inch wheel. Everything else was like a snap-tite model.” The bike is no trailer queen either. It has more than 34k miles on it, and Max rides it to work almost everyday. The bike has a ton of bitchin’ upgrades, such as a custom C&C seat, Yaffe exhaust, beltdrive, and Hammer Customs hand and foot controls. The finishing touch of the bike was a set of DNA Fat Daddy 52-spoke wheels.
Max’s biggest accomplishment with his Fat Boy was taking a Third Place finish at the Easyriders show this year, proving that all his hard work and dedication to make this bike stand out paid off in spades.
David Clenney from Manassas Park, Virginia, emailed us a photo of his rather modified ’08 H-D Deluxe. David upgraded the motor to 103ci with Zipper’s components. To control the new beast of a motor, he also decked out the electronics with a Thundermax EFI controller. The Luxie rolls on a set of blacked-out Ride Wright 21-inch front/18-inch rear wheels. The handlebars are a set of Burly 16-inch apes, with the pipes being a set of Freedom Performance True-Duals. The classic chrome and black parts on this bike are really set off by the red metalflake of the tins.
Jerry Weiler from parts unknown hipped us to his ’91 Harley Springer FXSTS. The bike sports a 1,340cc motor with Andrews cam. For some major induction, Jerry added a dual-carb manifold from Küryakyn attached to two H-D CV carbs topped off with a pair of Hyper Charger air cleaners. Exiting the gasses is a set of Vance & Hines Long Shot Pipes that have been cut off at back axle. Out back, a Warneke & Faust, struts, and fender have been fitted to original swingarm. The FXSTS also boasts a BDL 4-inch open primary. The bike was finished with Burnt Orange paint with airbrushed wolves on the gas tank, painted by Jerry’s nephew Mark Petersen.
Greg Maddock by way of Fishers, Indiana, wanted to show off his killer Road King that has been painted with 23kt gold leaf fire over real fire. The wheels, rotors, and pulley are all one-off custom designs by Wicked Image. The bike has been lowered with the tried-and-true combo of Progressive springs up front and 440 shocks in the rear. Samson Caliber pipes get the most of that Harley potato-potato sound, and the 88ci motor is governed with the help of a Screamin’ Eagle race tuner. To add some show to the go, a real ostrich-skinned seat was made by Ridden Leather. Massive amounts of chrome upgrades were done courtesy of Harley and Küryakyn. This bike is a rider, and Greg says it only sits in the garage during heavy winter storms.
