Seeing Red
Martin Bock from Jacksonville, North Carolina, sent us a few pics of his stellar '98 Heritage Softail. The bike has been an ongoing project and definitely was not done overnight; it's taken the past 10 years. Martin took his time throughout the years and was always looking for the perfect parts to make it look right. The bodywork is a fine combination of a Fat Katz front fender, a stock Harley tank, and a West Coast Choppers rear fender. The bike was custom painted by Martin's close friend, John. The engine has a few slight mods featuring upgraded pistons, cam, ignition module, and a ton of chrome. The bike rolls on as set of Performance Machine wheels and shifts with the help of an upgraded six-speed transmission.
Hurdy Gurdy Man
Mike Edleston from Warren, Michigan, proudly rides this '75 FLH that he affectingly calls Gertrude. Mike completely rebuilt the 84ci engine himself, and used an Andrews "B" bumpstick, with tons of other improvements. Mike also added a Baker five-speed trans, which he says is a great help on the freeways. The custom wheels were laced and trued by Rich at Detroit Wheelz, and the paint and bodywork were done by Mike's friend Jimmy Dobbs. Holy Diver
Jeffrey Lane is a commercial diver out of Panama City, Florida, and while putting his rather stock '51 Panhead around the scenic shores, small pieces of the top end decided to make thier way throughout the engine. While the bike was down, a few of Jeff's pals-Ricky James, Cody, and Pete at Beach Hawg, also in Panama City-helped him by finding some decent heads, having all the machine work done, and rebuilding the motor. From there Jeff chopped it up, added a slight nautical theme, and adorned the tank with his company logo. We wonder if this sweet two-wheeled freedom machine is now a business write-off?
Just Glidin' Along
Jeff Jones sent us some photos of his '05 Harley Davidson Road Glide via the internet. The bike has been upgraded with the aid of a set of 18-inch RevTech wheels wrapped with Metzeler tires. The bike stops with the aid of matching brake rotors front and rear. The shark-nosed fairing sits between an all-chrome frontend from the handlebars down. Mounted on the custom-bent bars is a Harley-Davidson MP3 player and radar detector mounted to the inner fairing. The bike breathes through an Arlen Ness air cleaner kit and expels the gasses with a dual ThunderHeader.
