Hamsters USA Raise $100,000 in Two Hours for Kids

The international motorcycle group Hamsters USA raised $100,000 for Children's Care Hospital in Rapid City, SD, with a silent and live auction. The gathering was held in Spearfish, SD, during the Sturgis Rally. Funds raised will provide physical, occupational, and speech therapies, plus special educational and psychological services to children in Western South Dakota-and parts of Wyoming and Nebraska-through Children's Care of Rapid City.

Hamster spokesman Grady Pfeiffer said the group is known for their big hearts when it comes to children. "Hamsters have always stepped up the plate for kids needing a hand," he said. "This is a great cause, and every dollar we raised goes directly to the kids."

As part of the evening's festivities, Children's Care Hospital & School presented the second annual Chrome Heart Award to the Dave Perewitz family of Bridgewater, MA. The award recognizes an individual in the motorcycle world whose philanthropic support and civic duty represents everything positive in the motorcycle industry. Dave Perewitz designs and builds custom motorcycles at Perewitz Cycle Fabrications. He is probably best known for his exquisite flame paint jobs.

Twenty20 Introduces New Wearable Camcorder

Seattle-based company Twenty20, known for its innovative helmet cameras, recently introduced its next-generation wearable camcorder, the VholdR. Earlier generation cameras require cables to connect them to a separate recording device, unlike VholdR, which is self-contained and has no external wires.

Twenty20 opted to use hardware-based video compression and record to an SD card, delivering instantly playable and sharable MPEG-4 files. Recording time is expected to be an hour per gigabyte of memory. Out of the box, the VholdR is ready to capture and deliver high quality video files with ease to the average computer.

VholdR's lens and image sensor are hermetically sealed, with the added benefits of being splash proof, shock resistant, and able to withstand wide temperature and humidity ranges.

Log on to www.vholdr.com for more info. Expected Retail Price: $349.99.
