The 1983 XR-1000 was one of the most unique members of the Sportster family; it was street legal but hardly looked the part. XR-1000s had aluminum XR-style heads with intake ports on the right side and exhaust on the left. The heads were ported and polished by Jerry Branch. Fuel was fed through dual 36m Dellorto carbs.
