No More Skin, just the bones of the Cross Roads.
Another new Klock Werks component that this bike will feature is the shop’s multi-adjustable Klip-Hangers Handlebars. The bars feature classic Ape style rise with sport bike style clip-ons for the hand controls and grips. A Kicker Klamp riser piece that incorporates the new Kicker Audio iPod controller will keep the bars secured in place while giving the bike’s new owner total control over the audio system. The team plans to install two 5-1/4-inch speakers and an amp into the front area of the spacious leather saddlebags. Floorboards, pegs, and other accessories will come from the likes of Rick Fairless, Kewl Metal, and Ness along with factory Victory custom pieces as well.
The bike’s sheetmetal will showcase a silver PPG Platinum basecoat sprayed by Brad Smith of Smitty’s Custom Paint in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Darren Wenzel of Gasoline Art in Austin, Texas, was chosen to spray the ultimate custom airbrush mix of Rockabilly, Western, and Hot Rod inspired artwork as a nod to the vast array of music and motorcycles that roll through the Chip every year. The Epiphone “Les Paul” signature series guitar will be painted platinum and airbrushed to match the bike as well.
And the final piece to the Victory Cross Roads pie will be a custom engraved seat and saddlebags by Duane Ballard of DB Leather in Lake Elsinore, California. With the natural beautiful rolling hills and open field landscape surrounding the Buffalo Chip, the bike has befittingly been dubbed Kountry Wild. It’s safe to say the bike’s new owner (possibly you) will enjoy getting wild on his/her freshly customized Victory as he/she blasts through the Sturgis countryside. You can see more on the Kountry Wild bike and register to win it by entering the Sturgis Rider Sweeps at buffalochip.com.
