To coincide with the enthusiastic comeback of its annual dealer show and showcase its 40 years in the motorcycle industry, Custom Chrome had a pretty cool exhibit set up in one of the lower floors of the Dolce Hayes Mansion, in San Jose California (location of the dealer show and 40th celebration). The exhibit had two long temporary walls spanning the entire length of the room with several bikes and display cases in the center of the isle. The walls allowed you to walk along the history of the company and relive its 40 years with catalog covers, behind the scenes photos, as well as a host of other memorabilia. Some of the coolest things were seeing the parts design sketches, mock-ups, hand written notes, and actual parts created by Custom Chrome designer John Reed. John is a motorcycle genius and it was inspiring to be able to just get a small glimpse into his wildly creative mind.
