Like many others, I owe all of my knowledge and ability to my father, whose father taught him. I write, take photos, and am the happiest when I’m either wrenching or racing. I grew up in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, what locals consider to be the birthplace of NASCAR. My great uncles were Bobby and Billy Myers, of the NASCAR Myers Brothers Award. T hey were pioneers in the sport, and the award in their name is given to whoever has most promoted the sport that season. I began racing NASCAR when I was 15, running in a small division made up of mostly Fox-body Mustangs. Around the same time, I built my first Harley, using swap-meet parts, and a gas tank half full of bondo.
